![]() ![]() It's not soft at all, not stale either, it just conveniently only falls away where you choose, which is important when they've stuffed it with so much food. ![]() By contrast, at TF on TT, when you bite a shell, just the part that you bit comes off. So basically I get two messy bites and then I'm eating nachos and making a mess. If I make shells at home, the second I bite the whole thing explodes, but I love crunchy too much in comparison to soft to ever do anything about it. Perhaps the most remarkable thing is the shells, though. Somewhat surprisingly, the tacos here for technically not that much more are as much meat as you'd want to deal with in a long, drawn-out taco of the scale it is, but then is a deliberate mix of the other ingredients. Even though Taco Bell is cheaper, they give you (out of necessity) hardly anything expensive like the meat and make it mostly lettuce in a tortilla. My relative who took me both times said, quite accurately, "Both of these tacos are like two at-home tacos," except at home I couldn't fill it nearly as well. The quality of the food for the deal (which is the only thing I've had on the menu so far) is so high, and the portions so generous, that I have to imagine it's a loss leader. I never knew about Tijuana Flats or Taco Tuesday, but I've gone twice now. ![]()
